NZ is mental – i can pass my test, go on a restricted licence and pick up a WRX import for 7 grand and not buy any insurance. I’m no sh1t hot driver myself but have a fair bit of experience and it scares me what these guys drive like. But your common garden NZ driver is as bad. Its scary, no idea about following distances etc just amazing. When i go back to the UK i am amazed at the level and qality of driving so thats something to think about !

Safe as houses here. You’re more likely to run into a tourist bimbling along. Certainly better than the mainland cities. As for the country? It’s a whole different world out there.
