I doubt that the prosecution has got this far without a reasonable amount of evidence. And not wanting something to be true doesn’t actually make it so.
(Edit) – just realised how snotty that sounds, but I have serious doubts that he can now have a fair trial, and would have to concur that due to the press releases, etc, the evidence against him has to be pretty damning.

As a drunken twentysomething in the 90s I met the guy and saw him in concert half-a-dozen times (with some sense of ironing, he aded hastily). That said, his live-act was genuinely entertaining – you haven’t lived till you’ve heard him play murder Stairway To Heaven live on the wobbleboard.

He even drew me a Rolfaroo.

No more heroes anymore.

Regardless of his guilt it’s another piece of my childhood tainted by grubbiness.

I still cling to the likelihood that Noggin the Nog was ok.

I always liked Rolf.

I was well chuffed when I went to his house back in 2003 for a wedding reception. His adopted daughter Seiwa (sp?) married a mate of mine. Chatted to him and had the obligatory arm-round photograph.

Gutted.

I decided there’s a point, a line in the sand past which I simply don’t care whether or not some kid’s tv presenter is dodgy. And that point is Glen Michael. Up til then, they can all swing but he’s got carte blanche.

Same here. I was in Rolf’s Cartoon Club, I had a badge and everything. 🙁 I used to try and make cartoons in Deluxe Paint III on my Amiga, but I’d always run out of memory because I was trying to do 24 frames per second, because Rolf had done a feature on the making of The Little Mermaid, and said how Disney’s animators were working at 24fps.
