    Hello all.

I’m wondering if anyone can give me a hand with the following query.

I have 2 frames (a Holdsworth and a TVT) both of which with BB’s needed to be removed.

The first is a ‘Kajita’ 1.37 x 24T, the 2nd an Octalink which was connected to a DA 7700 (perhaps 7400) crank. Does anyone know how to get these out and what tools are required? If you can help, thank you!

The Octalink bb will come out using a Park BBT-22 or similar tool.

The cup and cone bb needs a cup lockring tool and a peg/pin spanner of which there are also a multitude of brands.

As the cup and lockring in the photo look like they might have had some wrong tool attention it may be worth taking it to the bike shop to do.

Thanks very much for taking the time to respond – it is appreciated.

Yes, I bought that blue frame off eBay for £50, assuming that the BB may be stuck judging by the tool marks (although the seller was less honest about other things!). The white frame was my dad’s but the BB hasn’t been removed for a while.

Good idea re: taking it to the shop.

    Thanks!
