Oakley prizm low light lenses

Has anyone got some, just stuck my trail prizm normal lenses back in this last few weeks and remembered just how amazing they make things look

Sadly now the weather’s turned and woods are darker they are not so great so just spotted they now do a low light version? I assume this is for dull days and woods etc so probably exactly what I’m looking for

Any thoughts from users appreciated

Just got a set of Radarlock Path in Prizm Trail (and a clear lens, too) for £112 from Igero.

I have a Crud XL on the front and since fitting it, even in the depths of winter with all the rain and mud it kept eveything out of my eyes.  However, the last couple of weeks of hotness has seen an increase in flies and bugs and shit.  It does nothing for them.  The Oakleys do, and make everything look nicer in nearly dusk light levels.  With lights, very yellow.  Can only imagine the low light ones are even better.

I’m happy with mine in Jawbreaker flavour. Not used off road but winter night rides on the road with a decent light pose no problem. So I can’t see dark dank forests being an issue. They have a slight pink tinge which helps with contrast much like the trail lenses. I really must get back in the woods rather than poncing about in lycra all the time and try them out properly.

Yeh even in summer months when it’s light till late I still have to take my prizm normal ones off as they are too dark, which is annoying as in the day when it’s sunny and bright they alive in the woods so ideally I want to leave them on but never happens, so these could be just the trick

I assume there’s only one version of low light ones?

The prizm ones had road and mtb but I can only see a single prizm low light version

Got Road Prizm for proper sunny and Trail Prizm for not sunny/in the woods a lot. They were fine till 8.30 last night on a grey and dull evening.

Just depends on the denseness of the woods if there’s lots of light shining through I’ve found them ok

But once it starts to get thick forest no good and as soon as light remotely starts dropping then I have to take them off at night

Really? What about when the suns starting to set, the woods round here once dusk starts to kick in become not far off dark

They must have made the lenses for some reason or why have a low light version

I was tempted just sell the trail prizm and get some photochromic but again I bet once in the woods through dark and light they take a while to transition from dark to clear and on some runs through the woods they wouldnt have chance to change in time

I’m with OW on this.  If it’s overcast and I’m going to be under some dense foliage I will wear a clear lens.  Maybe depends on your woods/eyes/preference?

I also wear contacts so another reason to continuously wear glasses where possible

I might take a punt on them, if I can use them in winter dull days and night rides in summer then they’ll be more than useful especially over the clear with the prizm aspect, if they didn’t have prizm I’d just go clear

Not my experience. Great in summer but I switch to my Rad8 Photochromic for dull days and winter.

Need Prizm Photochromic – now *that* would be a lens

I have them for low light, late at night and also when in the trees in winter. They work a lot better than the Prism trails in my Jawbreakers.

In what sense do they work better Tracey? Or do you just mean in the obvious low light conditions or just in general?

I did spot that earlier today pretty cheap with 30% off even wiggles 10 quid dearer than that

I have the (frankly, brilliant) prizm trail torch in my jawbreakers and even on a dull day they’re awesome, only issue is it’s like wearing a perma-instagram filter, and when you take them off, everything looks dull again…

They do start being a little dark when it’s getting to twilight though, I need a set of prizm low light for the evening/night rides after lockdown, hmmm.

Just in the low light conditions and where it goes from dark to light and then back again.

that’s the biggest issue with them – you realise you’ve quite literally been looking at the world through rose tinted glasses…

My lenses were just delivered, just trying them in a bright room and they actually seem to make things brighter! Not much of the rose/pink tint to be seen when wearing them.

Same mine came today wore them back to back outside in the sun against my normal trail prizm… Weirdly make things even sharper, in bright day light… Strange

Will be trying them around the back tongiht when the sun goes down back to back with the normal prizm ones

I’ve used mine on the road at night but yet to try the trails other than an old unlit railtrail. I occasionally lift them up to see if it’s brighter without (it never is). I don’t think there’d be a problem with decent lights.

Just tried mine out on a dusk ride, when it got dark enough to need the front light on a decent setting, they’re excellent. Makes everything a tiny bit brighter and much cleaner and crisper, it takes away any yellow of the light and whitens everything a ittle, makes it a cooler light vs a warmer light.

Perfect for night rides.
