Notice – STW any issues ?

kilo : As per old nick above, just dog-slow to open any threads, seems to hang for ages and then just kick in (22 seconds to go from a thread back to the homepage). It’s getting a bit tedious now.

Its always been like that for myself but it is been getting worse over the previous months, it was faster when I deleted cache/cookies then logged out but it wouldn’t recognise my password so I had to browse the site whilst logged out and it was quite fast but still much slower than the other couple of forums I use.

I recommend the forum to someone on an audio forum I use, He logged up but stopped browsing/using it within a few days and sent me a message regarding the speed and functionality that I couldn’t post without ************ on just about every word

Forum history has disappeared off my profile. Possibly a purposeful troubleshooting action?

Having the same issue, trying to add stuff to a thread I started and I can’t find it anywhere as there’s no history in my profile.

Edit: also having the same issue as scotroutes says, plus the website is massively hogging my computer’s processor power.

Still dog slow to load and/or edit posts (circa 18 seconds) – it can’t be volume at this time of day

The forum history tab under my profile is blank, informing me I have not made any posts 🙂

Yep, same error here to go along with the really slow response times

Also suffering the WordPress message, lag times are about the same as usual,  so slightly too long.

Yeah, getting this page every time I post after waiting half an hour for it to go through.

Refreshing the page then takes me back to the very first page of the thread, then navigating to the very end usually finds the reply I just made.

I think post history is temporarily turned off while they are tracking down the slowness problem.  I think there was some evidence that everything was slower for people with a large number of posts so there might have been some link

My last post disappeared as I hit submit and I got a privacy warning page instead!

It just took 9 seconds to open this thread.

I’m seeing very long waits for pages to open, and as of earlier today, when I tried posting a photo of my Mint book I got the critical error message. I back paged, and the post had actually posted up, while the original post was still in the edit/text box.

There seems to be a 1000 page limit. The Coronavirus thread has gone over that and clicking the “last post” link takes you to page 1000 rather than the last post.

Same here with the “critcal error” – couple of times when posting pics. Post does appear afterwards.

(Happened after every post this morning, with or without pics)

Posters’ forum posting history on profile pages, has, I think, disappeared, which I noticed when attempting to use my own profile to get to the final pages of the Coronavirus thread, which I’d just posted on – got a critical error page as above. Can’t work out how to see my own post.

I put this in an unrelated thread but will copy it here as the relevant place, regarding that recent loaded action critical error that’s happening:

Just don’t refresh the page if you get the error and you won’t get a double post. Go to the task bar and hit enter/go instead of refreshing. Or if you do refresh, say no to the the “resend information…” thingy that pops up.

Edit: lolz, I got it when posting this. I suspect the error is to do with the redirect to the recent post after posting, because the post always works and the url shown in the bar is to the plain thread (no page or post number). That may be rubbish though, and is pretty irrelevant anyway… what was my point again?

TL;DR: If you get the error, a quick ctrl+L and hit enter will sort you quickest if on Windows, or 2 taps on your phone.

Stupidly slow atm. it took 8 seconds to open this page. I’m going to time how long it takes to post this, then edit with the time. It seem to take ages to edit a post.

Edit 1: So 10 seconds to post, well until I got the error message up there. Then 18 seconds from when I hit edit to getting back to the dialogue box.

Edit 2: 25 seconds from hitting post to my edit being posted.

I currently have a classifieds advert. I can’t see any replies on the advert, nor can I add any comments.

Plus the intrusive advert thing I mentioned earlier hasn’t gone away despite removing certain cookies etc.

Plus the message system is I pretty much unuseable on an iPhone as it just displays message in a column with one word per line down the right hand side.

I was going to report that it’s back to taking forever to submit posts.

Then I realised, it’s takes a really long time if you don’t actually click ‘Submit’…

Came in here to say…. but everyone else has already said it! I just stay logged out now until I want to post. But because it’s so slow and that error follows every submit, that’s not very often.

Forgive me for not ploughing through the old posts and these have already been covered…

1. Emojis,  I just get a ? Instead of a smiley

2. The classifieds, if I view an advert in a given category e.g. Ebikes, if I thn click on the ebikes link it never goes to the category, it just brings up the hannah error page.

Anyone else not seeing notifications?

No red dot over the profile icon top right and notifications doesn’t even show in the menu?

I can’t upload images in Chrome because the formatting toolbar doesn’t show, but I can post text. I can post images in Edge, but I get the same error message as above. However, if I go back to the previous page, the image has posted ok.

Another weekend where every single page refresh takes 10 secs minimum, often double. On the upside, I’ve decided to ride my instead!

Do we suggest the missing word between ‘my’ and ‘instead’? 😉

Doh!  Perhaps disappointingly, it was only my bike!

The error that’s been reported about twenty times now, just hit ‘back’ on your browser and it’ll take you to where you should normally be.

I just stay logged out now until I want to post.

I was running two browsers before I gave up and created a second account. Logged in on Chrome for posting, logged out in Edge for browsing. I guess an incognito window would also work?
