Does anyone have any natural routes they’d recommend in the North Pennines as an alternative to Hamsterley?

I endorse this route, watch out for the pedal snagging stealth rocks in the heather on the single-track over Blanchland moor though…

There’s a few little cheeky trail bits in Slaley forest and you can extend the route further north and west. I’ll try and put a map together and post.

Some great trails round there! Very underrated.
That track coming back down to Edmundbyers is a cracker.

The Edmundbyers route is a good one. Best when dry. More stuff over Hexham Common too, a few Bridleways over the moor towards Allendale.

There’s a route right out of Hamsterley. It’s on the Trailblazer’s website: http://hamsterley-trailblazers.co.uk/index.php/rides-trails/trail-guides/doctors-gate

Also High Cup Nick down in Teesdale. Excellent visuals at High Cup Nick, and some horrendous weather if you pick a bad day… It can be a big ride with lots of climbing.

Aside from that, there are very few Bridleways on the North Pennines unfortunately.
