new tyres and theyre the best ive used!
I love Maxxis Cross Mark but it has to be dry. Great on the North Downs but have also used in Afan & Cwm Carn. Had now for 2 summers and just starting to wear out.
I noticed Steve Peat had one on the rear of his trail bike and also that French dude Nicholais Vouloiz (sorry for spelling) had one on back of his 7" Lapierre (article in MBUK – yes I know about the recent topic on mags).
May look at SB8's or Maxxis Ardents for next year.Posted 8 years ago
vredstein bull locks….aparently hand stitched all i know is they replaced the contis on the five demo and theyre fab, more of a winter tyre but as i ride at scottish trail centres mainly theyre well suited….

I know some people like the contis with the black chilli compound and protection stuff, but I'd like to meet anyone who likes the bog standard ones that come on the fives etc.
I have very bog standard Continental Gravities that came on my Carrera Fury. Last weekend I stumbled across a decent pressure for them in the lakes (lower than I had been using) and I loved them.Posted 8 years ago
Mind you, it was an awesome ride despite the constant torrential rain.
I've just put a set of very bog standard (i.e. wire beaded) conti's on my bike – vert on the rear & gravity on the front.
I would like a new set of tyres but being currently unemployed i'm having to resort to the cheapo tyres at the back of my shed.
Any special offers on tyres?Posted 8 years agoZoneMember
I'm loving my rubber ones, they've got knobbles of rubber sticking out of them, if i put some air into the tube beneath them, they grip the ground which means i can ride over ruff stuff.
fantastic invention i think, highly recommended!
Wow…. you must be a fantastic rider 😉 sadly … I can only ride with tyres that get 5 out 5 in mbuk. I must admit I don't get on with flat ones.Posted 8 years agoivan_w_1983Member
I bought some panaracer fire xc pros 2.1 after being convinced by reviews.
Cant really say they are any better than the specialized enduros 2.2 I had on apart from climbing but then there wasnt a lot of tread left on the enduros.
I had convinced my mate to buy a pair as well and he wasnt impressed either.
Wont be buying another setPosted 8 years agoslowriderMember
tyres are the bane of my life! i cant run any single plys ive tried (so far) without tearing them as soon as i start enjoying myself. dual plys are so heavy it makes me cry. havent tried any ust ones yet, quite like the look of geax dhea's, or maybe schwalbe fat alberts. anyone know how tough either of these are?Posted 8 years ago
