So been riding the same budget pair of shimano mtb shoes for 3 or so years, recently taken up road riding and bought a decent pair of shoes (giro factors) for that.

Now when I go back to riding the mtb the shimano’s they feel too big and flexy and generally rubbish

Whats out there that is worth looking at? Not afraid to spend a little as I ride alot. Like always would prefer to get something in the sales if possible.

LBS only seem to stock full priced specialised. Been eyeing up sidi but know nothing other than internet reviews…

Specialized shoes are very very good.

The body geometry fit on them is fantastic, you appreciate it when they are on your feet for hours.

I’ve a pair of Mavic Switchbacks, really happy with them. Very stiff but ok for hike-a-bike.

Spesh. Dick all over Sidi IMO, I desperately wanted to like my Dragons, but they just weren’t any good. Had several sets of S-Works and they’re vastly superior!

Spesh here too. Might try some Mavics though.

Giro – easton carbon soles, love them, they come with wedges to fine tune fit, prefer them to my sidi’s

I have Sidi, shimno and scott .
Sidis are by far the best . very stiff, but vey comfortable . and soles can be rebuild .

would like to try the Spesh and mavic though as I have read very good reviews .

S- works have that weird boa system, does it work ok? Only used it on snowboard boots where it wasn’t great.
