Well after thinking about it for about it for 6 months I finally raided /all/ my piggy banks and spent some money.

First Ride today and it finished a lot dirtier than it started.

I have swapped out the tyres for Maxxis out of the box as I’m not keen on the Ground Controls.

Saddle may get changed but want to try a few more rides first.

Did you choose the frame colour to match the trees?

    Nice looking bike. 👌

Leaves need sweeping, other than that, nice bike.

@ Matt – official colour is named ‘satin harvest gold’.

@ Kramer – I will sweep the leaves if it ever stops raining for more than a few days 😉

Enjoy! Weather’s been so grim here I can hardly remember how to ride mine. Must get it out soon and practise a bit for the Colne Valley Challenge.

Very nice. Needs a black bottle 👌
Your tree wants putting back upright.

Looks lovely, what’s the blue thing some kind of mudguard for the frame gap and if so, is a Spec thing or available to buy somewhere?

    Nice!

I love my Epic Evo, it’s easily the best bike I’ve ever ridden.

@kryton57 – Yes it is a little mudguard to try to protect the lower pivot and stop stones getting in the gap between swing arm and BB

It mounts to the lower bottle mount

I got a local lad to make it for me for a few quid, but he only had blue filament!

I’d love one of those, would he make more?

    Thanks for the link @dawson

I have a dirtskirt for mine:

Quite neat, but my guess is that it fits Stumpjumpers slight better than Epics. Reckon it’ll do the job, but might replace it with a plastic 3D printed doodah sometime…

That skirt hing is pretty cool… just printing it now (in white) to see how it looks on my Evo..

Love my Epic Evo. It’s a very flattering bike to ride I find.

Still haven’t got round to a dirt skirt. Would be good to hear people’s experiences of that and the 3D printed thingy.

@dawson just before I order, can I just check if one size for all frames? Mine Epic Evo is large.

I’ve used the 3d printed one for around three years now, mentioned it on here a few times. I don’t have a 3d printer so uploaded the file on line and heh presto arrived 10 days or so later.

Found it to be really good and made a huge difference to crud getting caught up in the little concertina gap thingy but then I do ride all year round and in some right awful sloppy cr*p.

First ride out today. Got a carbon medium even though I’m 6ft, I like the smaller cockpit. Absolutely superb, swoopy, silent, climbs well. Chuffed to bits and awaiting some rubber wear to come through the post.

ps I thought the kid in Worksop was printing those skirts for silly money so I paid them £20 instead and hope that other people might do the same. It was a little black number and fitted nicely.

I bought a couple form the guy in Worksop as well, one for the bike and a spare.

Defintely recommend him if anyone’s looking for the skirt/fender thing for their Epic!

Is the ‘guy in Worksop’ the one from the Facebook link above? I just get ‘content not available’ when I click on it. I’m probably just too cool for Facebook.

Those using the 3d printed one – do you have images of it on the bike.

How close does it sit to the lower linkage?

    BillMC

It’s quite clear of the lower linkage but covers it comprehensively enough. Before I fitted mine a nasty little accumulation of gravel appeared on the linkage after a ride in the dry necessitating a bit of a going over with a hoover brush (ffs).

Right, after NBD is over I’m deferring to the proper thread.   This morning I change my Evo Pro to race spec, basically tubeless with Barzo/Mezcal and removed a bottle cage and it weighed in at 11.16kg!

Im pretty shocked how light that is considering the dropper etc.  Fun times.
