I’m after a netbook or very small laptop. Small size and weight are important. I’ve seen a Samsung at John Lewis (NP-NS310 A30UK) which looks like it’ll fit the bill. I like the fact it has a card reader on it and most others don’t. Can anyone recommend something similar? Say £400 tops.

    Thanks!

They are all pretty much of a muchness these days. If that one has a feature that you like, that the others don’t, that’s good enough reason to buy it.

Out of interest I have a Samsung N110 and would happily have another.

I’ve not looked at the John Lewis one you talk about, but £400 sounds like a lot to me. You can easily get them new for £200ish.

The Sony P series Vaios are really good (I’ve got an old P11Z/Q that I use occasionally)

If you’re going for a netbook, get one with a dual core CPU. Then rip out the RAM and stick 2Gb in it.

(I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again)If used is OK I’d get a Dell mini 10 with OSX installed on it from t’bay.
We’ve got two (did the install myself) and they’re brilliant.
