I had the Eurosport player app on my LG tv & subscribed for a year, but I could never get my head round the EPG (what was actually on the screen very often didn’t match the EPG) and the picture quality was variable. The app itself seemed a bit naff too, slow to respond to button presses and the like.
I ditched it!Posted 3 years agobokononMember
Been using Eurosport player for the last month to watch the Spring Classics legally, my wife made me after she endured a pixellated edition of Milan San Remo. The quality is much better than the pirate streams, and for the monthly price (I’ll cancel it at the end of the month) it seems worth it to me, pretty good quality if the connection is good, when the bandwidth drops, then so does the quality.Posted 3 years agooffthebrakesSubscriber
I watch Eurosport via the ES Player app on a tablet (Nexus 7 2013) – picture quality is excellent in my opinion. Also, if you sign up for a year then it is £2.99 a month, well worth it for the season even though there’s not much I want to watch over the winter.
As for hooking it up to a TV, that depends on what device you are using and what TV, so you’d need to investigate it yourself. As far as I know the app doesn’t currently work with something like Chromecast, don’t know if there are any plans for this. The feed is in HD so I would expect it to scale up fine, but I haven’t actually tried so wouldn’t want to promise anything.Posted 3 years agojiffMember
Anyone subscribe to this and/or had experience of it please ?.
I don’t watch enough TV to justify having Sky/Virgin/BT Sports/etc, but at £3.99 per month this seems like a more cost effective way of watching the various cycle tours.
Also, for those that may use it, is it possible to then ‘plumb’ it into the TV ?Posted 3 years agoatlazMember
I watch it on: laptop (at work), iphone (with free wifi in bars/coffee shops), XBox (rarely) on my Samsung TV using an app. Providing I have enough bandwidth I get the HD stream and it’s pretty good. Only occasionally do they get swamped and provide a poor service. Given the annual price is a discount on the monthly, I get that to avoid having to remember to get it for the races I care about.Posted 3 years ago
