Don’t want a total rust bucket, but can’t be too choosy, so obviously not too fussed about high mileage etc. £1500 is what I have.

    Am I dreaming?

Nope, you’ll get a decent transit for that. I’ve been watching loads on ebay recently, looking myself. £1500 should get you around an 02 ish lwb, in good condition.

Depends how big a van you want.

Ex post office combos at 3 years and 50k are available from about £2k. At that price avoid vitos and transporters as they are likely to be sheds. Consider Merc Sprinters if you want large vans, swb versions are fairly cheap and they tend to go on and on especially the d rather than cdi versions.

A Berlingo/Combo/Seat Inca (VW Caddy with a different badge!)/Ford Escort Van/Astra Van should be doable for that budget 🙂

I wouldnt discount a VW Transporter, there a good buy if you can find a good one, they seem to sell to friends, rather than make the cllasifieds at that price though.

If its mechanically sound, and bodywork corrosion around the rear wheel arches is ok it should be a good van imo, irrespective of mileage.full service history is key.

    Avoid Vitos though.(imho)

    good luck 😉

try LDV because they are going out of buisness and they wont be wanted loads of old vans lying around so you could probably get one cheap

But not for £1500. Not that I’d want to spend £1500 on an LDV anyway!
