A pair of Reba RL solo air 26″ flavour.

I like them as they’re dead easy to service. But after a few weeks the travel indicator sits just under the 10% sag line.

So drop the lowers and the “piston” on the air/left leg is always stuck up and needs pulling out as though it’s stuck down. Is that normal? Seals are looking perfect, clean, liberally coats with slick grease. Stick it all together and 5ml of 15weight oils in the lowers, and all good. Full 120mm travel again… for a few weeks…

    Any ideas?

Is it losing air pressure over this time?

    Nope.

Too much grease and its blocking the air transfer port on the air spring side (assuming its the same as pikes and is a small dimple inside the stanchion).

Air bleeding into negative spring and not returning.
The air chamber has a small indent in the wall, couple of inches from bottom, to allow pressure to equalize between Pos and Neg air springs.
This can get gummed up. Disassemble as if your servicing and give it a clean with cotton bud and solvent, then wipe with lint free cloth.

    Ahhh… that makes sense!

    Cheers argoose and sr0093193 🙂

Off to the workshop right now….
