Thought I’d share a few pics of a build I just finished this evening. I’ve been collecting bits from here now for a couple of weeks.

I just bought a new Lapierre Spicy but needed something else more suitable for commuting and evenings round a couple of localish loops, keeping the Spicy for trail centre, uplift and alps trips.

This is it in offroad guise but I’ve another set of wheels with semi-slicks and a road cassette for commuting.

Only thing I need is a shorter stem as the 90mm is too long for me with the 18″ frame, the top tube is well long on these frames!

Always fancied building up a ridgid bike again too and the offshoot bonus is it’s nice and light with the carbon fork for hauling up 4 flights of stairs to my flat 🙂

Anyway, not sure why but thought I’d share it lol

    Pick away! 🙂

Hehe I had thought about single-speeding it but that would resign it purely to commuting as im not fit enough at the moment to take a SS offroad I don’t think.

The grips actually look good in the flesh but I had to tweak the pics a bit in photoshop as the camera’s crap which makes them look too bright.

I do actually have a very nice mint set of SID race there sat ready to go on if I dont get on with the carbon forks, will need to see how my wrists hold up after a proper ride tomorrow evening after work 🙂

    Cheers for the comments.

The change grip colour to black comment is not the way the grips look now, but how they look after a ride or two.

You should of gone for the WHITE Brothers rock solid rigids.

    the brake/shifter levers look MASSIVE

    They do don’t they lol!

They actually work very well and at £60 for the shifters/levers, calipers, pads and all mounting adaptors/bolts etc I tink they were hard to beat value wise.

But yeah, not the prettiest :p
