I always feel down after the last test of the summer, TMS is summer to me. It was a perfect way to end it though.
Buttler and Curran were huge positives for the series. Not sure about Rashid but I can see why he was played so he would be integrated into the side before Sri Lanka.
Obviously, the is still have an issue with the 3 openers, England shouldn’t try to replace Cook, there are few if any old style openers left in the world now. What is needed though is someone to stick around long enough so that Root and the impressive middle order do not face the new ball. Buttler should bat at 5 as a specialist batsman, he’s proved he is good enough. Barstow does well at 7 and should go back there.
Bowling wise everyone goes on about spin it’s the lack of pace on pitches that don’t do much that worries me.
