If you don’t want to kill them you need bait-stations.

Last week I discovered we had a visitor in the garage. I bought a Procter humane trap from the local hardware store for£6 and loaded with a few dog biscuits. Next morning there was a very cute mouse in there happily nibbling away. I drove him onto the moors and set him free (probably to be eaten by a buzzard/stoat/other predator).

I made one of these and cleared my dad’s house of an infestation within a few weeks. Some mornings there were up to a dozen mice in the bottom of the bucket – it really does work beautifully.

I tried the humain method but the buggers vandalised it. We have them in the loft so I have the normal traps out with peanut butter. So far I have had 10.
