May be staying in Prodains in early July (taking the car again, so access to the general area not a problem). Is the lift from there up to Avoriaz open to mountain bikes in the summer, so that we can then get across to the runs down to Linderates?

yes

No – it’s not this summer… they broke the cable when putting in a new lift nearby (whoops!) – you’ll have to roll down to Morzine and get the Super Morzine bubble up.

You can still finish off the day riding down from Avoriaz, so it’s not too bad.
