Can’t help with info you want but just wanted to say the area holds some very special memories to me from my first skiing trip with school when I was maybe 13! Stayed in the Hotel Panorama in Fai della Pagnella. Fantastic landscape and wonderful snow. Would love to go back.
Yes and no, I was really looking forward to Paganella but was a bit disapointed. I had a very bad night at Val di Sole thinking I was going to be robbed before I got to Paganella which didn’t help. I was knackered to begin with & it was very hot the day I did ride, I did a load of laps of Hussle & flow with some guys I met and didn’t get to do all I wanted. Hussle & flow was closed due to a couple of serious accidents and the helicopter was needed.
If you do stay at the Fai lift it’s a fair way from Andalo/Molveno so you’ll have to drive down there to ride. Parking in the towns is a pain. The lakes were warm at the end of my ride though which was nice.
I would look at Livigno as an alternative, it’s dirt cheap and if both parks are open there is a lot of riding.
Nice mix of built and natural trails. Lots of flowy stuff, well built jumps and you can link up the three areas with either a little riding using the trails or lots of wild enduro pedalling along the top. No need to drive from one area to the next, imo.
Price of a day pass has gone up since covid, but there’s enough riding to justify a three day pass, if not longer.
Parking in Fai is free, but it’s an inconvenient place to be if you want to eat out in the evening or need to go shopping (trail down to Andalo near the end of the day, shop and then lift/trail to Fai).
There is a new camper parking in Andalo, but I’ve yet to have a look at it.
Very few places in Trentino where you can park up for free.
Whilst you’re in the area have a look at the riding around Bozen /Bolzano which is lift accessible and the Vinschgau valley.
Went to Livigno a few years ago and wasn’t overly impressed. Livigno side was a constant battle to try and pass slow people who didn’t want to let you pass even after you asked nicely.
The otherside was windy so was a day of Russian roulette because it was so windy.
Interested in tracks around Bolzano only been there to see Otzi the Iceman.
