Mm.. not much of a PM to be honest.. probably not worth applying for it in the current climate.

There are loads of adverised jobs. Try getting shortlistd for any of them! A complete mystery!

Well probably adverts just to encourage candidates to upload CV’s

I agree. When I was looking (2 years ago) I applied for many jobs that based on the description I was perfect for. Often not even a call to discuss.
When the call did come it was somebody reading a list of questions they didn’t understand receiving answers they couldn’t decipher.

my wife’s now applied for over 250 jobs in less than 2 months, looking fro work as a contract IT project manager- recruiters have put her forward for maybe 36 jobs- 3 interviews out of that lot so far, and still waiting for a decision on two of those.
If this goes on too long I might have to try and get a job myself!

I’d really like to know how many cv’s recruiters are getting for each vacancy.

They should go back to the old method; personal contact over the phone. Invite candidates for interview. Have a face to face meetings with clients. Agents that specialised and knew the business they were selling into.

These days it’s a huge spamming and word search exercise managed by a lot of people who are all puffed up with self-importance. They know very little about the people they select and the business need of the clients they serve.

If you want a job, forget agents, NETWORK with anyone you can think of.
