I’m planning a wee ride to Aviemore, to include the Minigaig. Looks like there are a number of options once I hit the bealach.

    (a) Head north, then west into Tromie
    (b) Head north to pick up the Feith Mhor and then into Feshie
    (c) Head north, then east into Feshie
    (d) Head east then north over Leathad an Taobhain and Meall an Uillt Chreagaich into Feshie

    Opinions?

Did (d) last year and bikeable all the way to the top of the first hill, grassy / heathery but some faint deer tracks, from the bealach to top of second hill was a steep and boggy push to start but short. Downhill was fairly smooth landrover / forest track and reasonably steep so very fast and over pretty quick. Nice arriving half way down Glen Feshie though. There was grouse shooting on the plateau bit after the climb up at the head of the glen on the minigaig coming from the south, kind of far enough away bit not a place to be hanging around. No idea of the other options. I would do it again. best for dry conditions so should be alright this year.

    b) made my wife cry. She was severely “not amused” by the time we got to 799918. She was concerned that we were stranded in the middle of nowhere and there was no way out. We have repeated the route since with no tears…
