    for a mate '1 looking for a first hartail, anyone any idea if th e19 would be big enough for 6'1?

    The Malt 1 looks like a bargain and it's a good bike too. I'm 5'10" and ride a 17.5" (2004) frame. I'd imagine the 19" frame would be ok for you but I'd email Merlin and check.

    yes 19" perfect for your mate I'm 6ft 2" and fitted me fine.

    I had a Malt 1 a few years ago and it came up quite big, so I suspect it would be Ok for him – it certainly won't be so small that a bit of stem and saddle/seatpost adjustement couldn't put right.
