    OMFG!!!

Trying to feed new brake inners into my Gevenalle levers and jeezo!  this might be the most frustrating job I have ever encountered on a bike.

Trying to get the cable through the cable stop in the lever and feed it through the cable guide to the rear is nigh on impossible due to the angles at play.

I’ve ended up having to remove the lever in order to straighten out the angle and also remove the bar tape in order to get the cable to feed into the outer.

    Grrrrrr…..

    they’re Tektro levers aren’t they.

I used to use an elastic band to hold the lever to the bar and give me two hands for the strang pokey/probing dance you have to do…

Yeah they are.  Can’t remember them being this hard when I set them up in the first place.  It’s was about 4 years ago tho…  so I’ve clearly erased the experience 🙂

You probably fitted the cables before fitting the levers first time.

More likely you fed the inners through and the sleeved the outers over them and the ferules on the ends don’t align with the holes in the lever casing. Unwrap the bars and do the same again.
