Does anybody know what it is?

I know it involved fine sandpaper after painting something onto the scratches, but that’s all.

    It’s for a friend, fortunately.

    Thanks,

    Nail polish. Clear obviously.

Epoxy resin I think – or I could have read that elsewhere

Araldite or Epoxy are good. Nail varnish wears off.

Ta, nail varnish if you’re nervous I guess, or epozy resin or araldite if you’re not so nervous.

    Thanks all.

Araldite = epoxy no? That how-to ages ago was with aradite and wet ‘n’ dry. Probably worth protecting the unscratched area with masking tape or similar.

I sold some scratched forks with my old frame to a bloke who worked in a big marine engineering place. He repairs massive hydraulic rams with solder apparently, he reckoned if it was good enough for industrial rams, it would work with fork stantions, probably easier to rub down too.
