I’m upgading my rear axle to 12 x 142 on my asr5 from QR, so need to adapt my crossmax ST’s. They come with the new end caps for 12 x 142.

Is this a simple job or will I have to remove my cassette to do this, as it seems it not a case of just plugging on the adapters like it is for QR dropouts.

any advice welcome before I attack it tonight.

Yep, just replace the end caps. Mole grips will pop the old ones off.

thanks ratrap – that def shows the need for some tools but looks ok. I think that one tool came with the wheels.

The tool that comes with the wheels is the bearing adjuster. You just need a spanner for the other side.

Took me 5 minutes to change mine.

Is that grease or loctite that’s being squirted on?

I’m assuming I can leave the cassette on then or does it restrict access?
