… Can’t seem to find info anywhere,

    A) any clues where I might find this please? I Think that the spring fitted is possibly the wrong rating for me. Never having done this before I’m assuming it’s fairly simple in that you match rider weight to spring rate, or is this even generic? After all I’m imagining a 2.5″ spring is a 2.5″ spring as long as it is the correct length.

    And

    B) Its popped a seal and is needing serviced, now looking at it and the info on the web, it’s user serviceable, seems fairly straight forward ( I’m an engineer). Seal / repair kit is £50 + dreaded plus I’ll need to add oil to that cost too. Would I be better of having it serviced properly or trust my own engineering skills?

    That should sort step 1.

    As for the service

I’d probably pay the extra and send it off myself just for peace of mind. Though it should be easy enough to do yourself but the service prices are getting close to the parts and oil you will need to buy.

Cheers, a) chucking some best guesstimates into the calculator and there is no setting for 25% sag either for trail/enduro I’m pretty sure the spring is far to stiff now as I suspected (I have lost about a stone in 7 years) rough figures are pointing at 250 – 300 required as opposed to the 350 that’s fitted. I need to do an accurate reckoning up in the morning, I’m wondering whether a 275 is available.

B)Yeah I was thinking the same… Loco would be my first choice. I need to double check the prices with windwave for the kit in the morning ( website doesn’t give much away) as there may be one at £31 – at which point it is deffo user serviceable!

I’m guessing the 25% has gone as most people are back on air for everything other than DH, the 28% should be close enough to give you an idea. Make sure you put in your riding weight as most people forget that kit/shoes/bag add a few kg to their weight.

I was between sizes and gave TF a call, they put me onto the right one.
