So the plans have gone in today for approval, we are looking to extend the house and build a separate “Man Cave” for me 🙂

So it’s going to be approx 3 – 3 mths and I need inspiration, for how to arrange it,

So what I’m after is pics (first of all I FULLY understand if you don’t want to post) of your man cave, layout, design, best way to maximise my space, so if you want to help that would be great, but as said before, I fully understand if you don’t want too.

    Thanks again for your help.

No pics at the moment as its not finished, but I’ve laid the floor and finished the climbing wall…(up the stairs, cos, well, stairs are just so “vanilla”)

Just for starters… plumbing for espresso machine & urinal, log burner, hammock, work bench to support an elephant, bike stand, some kinda man trap…

Mine is a work in progress but I’m happy to post pictures.

    It started out like this

And now one end looks like this with the bikes hung up and the floor painted.

And the other end looks like this but with the walls fully painted.

Next is some shelving on the left there and a nice big workbench.

A lot depends on what you’re gonna do in there. Ours is used as a place to use the turbo trainer in bad weather, store lots of stuff, work on bikes and do some woodworking. Ideally I’d like to separate off the woodworking area from the storage and exercising area as the mess from one tends to spread all over the place.

So first thing, what you gonna do in there?

Bike storage, turbo room with TV/DVD etc.

I’d go hanging bikes as above, opposite wall end to end workbench with cupboards underneath and wall units above, Wall mounted TV and plenty of floor space left to work. Our shed lacks floor space and it’s a bit of a pain.

Samuri, I doubt wether Mcmoonter has got wood envy from that top pic 😉

I do however, have floor envy. Nice job.

For Johndoh (Edit – well thats a bit strange)

Important bits are heat, light and lots of plugs. Add in space to work and do that job that requires more space. Also apparently easy to clean is a bonus

I dont mind posting mine. Recently built and I love it!
    Was:

Skylight is really good, well worth adding one:

Behind that is the garden tools room, which is only accessible from back garden. There is a tyre shelf in the pitch above the door, keeps em out of the way. Shower/toilet room and a utility room which contains my beer fridge and a large sink for dirty biking clothes. We also now have door into the house, meaning I get back from a bike ride, open roller door (elec), hang bike up, strip off, chuck clothes in sink, shower and walk into house (passed open windows, shocking neighbours), and upstairs 🙂

Beer fridge is in the garage, not the man cave. 😉

Cheers STW, for the record, it will have a beer fridge don’t worry.

    Any other “hanging bikes” ideas.
