Evening all,i recently bought a Magura MT6 Disc brake to replace my trusty old Avid BB7.

I have shortened the hose fine and did manage to get abit of air in the system so will re-bleed the brake this week.

One thing i have noticed is the lever seems to have some play in the bushing, this seems to mean the first 3-4 millimeters of brake lever pull is just taking out the play in the lever.Has anyone else experienced this,is it just a poor design?.The Shimano XTR lever on my previous setup didn’t have any play what so ever.

I was thinking for the price of the brake and with how much Brakes have come along in recent years play in a lever blade bushing shouldn’t be present.I am abit particular and do like my bikes to be spot on so this does irritate the hell out of me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have a look at the Magura forums

The guys have come up with an alternative way to bleed the brakes. I’ve not tried it myself as yet so cant say if it works or not.
