I finished up at the top of Mach 3 on the last day of the trans cambrian ride. I was a bit confused by a “footpath only” sign at the top of the last descent. I’ve just checked the OS map and it’s a dot-dash line, aka restricted byway. So it’s not “footpath only”.

Have there been issues with locals objection to cycle traffic? Quite a few signs seemed to be missing too.

“Footpath only, no vehicles” hand painted on a piece of broken plank? Been there for ages, presumably to deter the motorcyclists that appeared in the area about 5 years ago. The signs have always been a bit hit and miss, more miss just recently. I’ve ridden here for years and have never had any problem with any of the farmers, I’m just extra careful around lambing time etc. Most of the time you never see anybody either working, walking or riding.
