You can just get a mouse with a second button if you want anyway.

Kind of defeats the purpose of an air if you have to use a mouse.

On my Macbook, you can get "right-click" by putting two fingers on the touchpad while you click, so you don't have to press control.

On my macbook you can get right-click by tapping two fingers simultaneously on the touchpad, no need to click.

dvd ripping software..nothing beats the PC's dvdfab5 in my experience, macs versions are rubbish.

Try handbrake, much lauded software and very easy to use.

All I know is life got a lot less stressful when I switched to Mac.

Cunning. Thanks for that. It took me all day to figure out you could scroll with two fingers (actually all day plus a phone-rant).

Well it seems your tests to get to grips with your new Macbook were quite thorough then.

You could have looked at the video tutorials on the page that safari opens to by default:

To be honest I struggled to work out how to operate the multi-touch track pad on the new MacBook while I was in the shop, but soon got the hang of it. The other one to look for is to use the cmd key instead of the ctrl key if you want things like ctrl-z undo, etc.

One past such trivia, I haven't looked back, and am a convert. I have a nice Sony laptop with Vista as well, but I reach for the MacBook by default now, it's just easier and nicer to use – and boots up way quicker.

Ahh WayneKerr has started the auld debate agin…

all I know is that Mac's stress me out – far too dictatorial and inflexible. Although, according to my wife, they look pretty and she want's one.

Personally I want to go the jungle and get Ubuntu…

seriously? Handbrake? Never have i seen such a slow program. The speed of DVD Fab 5 is 20 mins for a rip, less for a burn. Handbrake, i tried…2hrs for a rip and then it couldnt make a dvd could it..no no.. thats too much like hard work..
