I’ve got Lyrik coil U-Turn forks and would like to do an oil change on them. Looking at the SRAM Youtube stuff it seems the easiest way is to use a skinny 24mm spanner to get under the Mission Control knobs and buttons. Will a 24mm cone spanner be OK? Any other tips?

Seems that I also need to get some 5wt and some 15wt oil for each leg. Anything else worth having to hand? Is it an easy job overall or do I need 3 hands?

Its pretty easy- I take the knobs off and use a 24mm socket, they shouldnt be done up too tight anyway. Some sort of oil pan for pouring out, rubber gloves and some beer all help.

It takes 10 seconds to remove the mission control stuff. Why risk damaging them?

BoardinBob – Exactly, a thin 24mm spanner is what SRAM recommend to get underneath the knobs and twirly bits without having to take them off so you can remove the damper assembly. I was just asking if a 24mm cone spanner was thin enough, but I guess it is.

Glad it’s easy, and I’ll remember beer!
