Looking for an Android Tablet

Budget £2-300, 9″ screen or thereabouts, surfing & watching downloaded netflix etc.

Have been warned off the Amazon Fire with all their bloatware.

One I’ve had a look at is a Samsung A9, anything else out there worth a look?

My kids have both just got a Lenovo M11 each. Specifically because my youngest wanted one with the pen and this was the cheapest one I could find that ticked the box. Seems pretty good so far albeit they have only used them for kids stuff, nice and slick and much nicer than I remember tablets being but my last one was bought about 12 years ago!

My current 1st choice is the honor 9, it’s a bigger screen than your spec tho. It seems to get good reviews for the £250 mark. There might be a smaller screen version

For some reason I have an aversion to Samsung phones and tablets, possibly because they always look like they have loads of bloat on them. Anyway, my mum got a samsung A9+ after reading good reviews and it looks and works well. So the A9 should be fine, read reviews?.

If a Samsung is the right price and the right spec, I wouldn’t be put off. The software is mainly there for ecosystem features. Use Samsung’s phone dialer, you can pick up calls on any Samsung device. Same with messages, browser etc. They’re trying to do the same handoff stuff as Apple. You don’t get this if you use stock Android apps. Is annoying you can’t uninstall many of them though.

Heard good things about the Lenovo P11 too. Looks like they have a deal this month, bundled with a pen and case for your budget. Has more RAM than the Samsung.

with phones & tablets, I’ve been pretty meh about Samsung stuff for years. No real reason why, just didn’t particularly get on with the phones I had used.
But a few years ago while looking for an Android tablet I conceded that really it was Lenovo or Samsung & there were some good deals on the S6 Lite (which they don’t make anymore).

And, to be fair, it’s a great tablet. No real bloatware to speak of, good battery, good screen, easy to use.
My wife has an A something Samsung tablet, maybe the A8. That is also fine, but noticeably lower quality/spec which is to be expected given it was loads cheaper. Still works absolutely fine though.

My daughter has a Lenovo tablet – M8, I think. That is also fine, although does occasionally just turn the screen off & go to sleep. Pretty sure that’s due to one of the games she plays on it, rather than the tablet itself.

Nokia probs have a range and if so then will no doubt be really good for battery longevity and vgvfm.

Though not good for security and OS updates

Got the kids an A9 recently. Was only about £120. For that money very impressed. Screen not quite as high res or sharp as my iPad but I’m comparing £120 with £330. I’d happily use it.

Just bought an Oukitel RT7 Titan 5g for site work. £499, but 10″, bombproof, decent camera, screen seems nice enough (not 4k though) and a monstrous battery. I don’t charge it for days.

The stand/handle is fantastic. At first seems unweildy, but really does make a difference to a tablet without one. I’ll get a pic later

The kids have had a Samsung A7 for a few years, which has always been fine.
