  • Long shot has anyone ever converted travel on an old Manitou?

I have a 2003/2004 manitou axle. Had it sitting around and I am adding it to my daughter’s bike. Currently, the head angle is way too slack but I noticed it says it is convertible travel 100/80. It is currently 100mm so I assume it will convert to 80mm. I have found a 2003/2004 manual that has some very vague instructions that I will do my best to follow. If anyone knows how to actually do it that would be great, but a long shot. I was more hoping to get some advice on whether it will actually do what I am assuming it will do i.e. I assume it will actually reduce the travel length on the shock and so shock height rather than just stop the travel short of its full travel. So the stanchion length visible will be 20mm less? Am I right in assuming this?
