A couple of us are riding from The Batch carpark on Friday. Weather looks good and hopefully the ground won’t be too soggy. Does anyone know if the Bridges pub is open? Google indicates it’s temporarily closed and I can’t get an answer when I call.

I have found the Long Mynd to drain well in the valleys and firm paths along the top.  It gets a little soggy in some of the woodland or at the foot of the hills at the end of the valleys.

Enjoy your ride, my favourite place to ride in the UK.

Unfortunately the Bridges Inn is still closed for renovations. Bottle and Glass at Picklescott is a nice alternative.

It’s running awesome up top and in the woods near the glider station at the minute. Actual dust in most places on Wednesday night.

Minton Batch is a stream on the top half but that’s year round.

Station pub in Marshbrook , with bike shop on site, will look after you.

It’s a bit late for @ambrose and his ride on Friday, but The Crown in Wentnor would probably be a decent alternative if the Bridges/Horseshoe is out of action. Its a bit closer to mid way round if you’re starting in Little Stretton than the Bottle and Glass

Cheers folks. Being the honed athletes that we are we found that we needed rehydrate a couple of times as well as top up our carbs. Haribo can only get you so far, so cheesy chips at the Green Dragon washed down with a HPA. Then a couple hours later a protein rich high electrolyte supplement from Nobby’s plus another HPA this time in The Ragleth. I thought it wise to keep my rehydration as stable as possible so choose the same fluid type and volume in order not to irritate my metabolism.

TLDR Nice pubs in Little Stretton sorted our needs nicely.
