Sitting here with a hangover, feeling very humbled by what all these people are doing. Nothing but respect for all of them. Makes me proud to be a Londoner.

I am keen to do it just waiting to get picked out of the hat. I clearly need to become a z list celeb to do it 😀 The charities want silly money raising so you can get a guaranteed place with them.

It's a such an emotive event. Some of the stories are incredible, and some are very sad. People who've lost loved ones, yet turn that heartbreak into something really positive, raising money and awareness. I love the 'triumph over adversity' thing.

Kato; what were you doing, and where were you stationed? I volunteered one year, on a drinks station. The pain on people's faces, then you tell them 'come on, keep going, you're doing really well!' etc, and you see them lifted again. It's wonderful.

I was told on Friday that my entry to the Safaricom marathon in the Lewa game reserve in Kenya has been accepted.

PANIC!!!! Only two months to get up to speed/distance and to raise £1k sponsorship……..I'm not even thinking about 5500ft of altitude.

I started my day watching the London Marathon in my local cafe, Logita, in Awassa, Ethiopia.

It was a little surreal.

The chaps here are really into marathons!

re' london marathon, doesn't appeal to me at all – the crowds, route, commercialism etc, can't see the attraction. but yeah, great that it raises so much for charidee and great that people can push their boundaries doing it

Turned on the telly this morning to see my brother a couple of rows back from the elites, he's pretty tall and was peering over the top and clearly visible, don't know how he's done, previous best was 2:40, don't think he thought he was going to beat it.

It depends where you are- Awassa was a bit chilly this morning as it had rained really heavily all night, but it got quite warm this afternoon… But I've been here fot three months now, and I'm getting used to the heat. The altitude helps keep it a little cooler!

I didn't see the result of the race- that's great news!

only a few miles in, we were being used to close the roads for the marathon chaps to put the course up.

Phil Packer stopped for a chat with us. What an amazing fella

Tootallpaul; he had a great race. Made a break a couple of miles from home, and really surged to the finish. Only a few seconds off the course record too!
