Ok, ok so we’re in a back garden in Staffordshire, but it’s still camping. We’ve just sneaked out to the Chippy, & the obligatory midnight feast is in progress.

chippy fodder isn’t proper camping, you’re aware of that, right? Fry an egg that gets totally stuck to your frying pan and fill some buns with grass. Do it quick, before the Gods of camping get pissed. 😀

excellent. We need bogey monster updates and scary stories.

Taking 6yr old Stoner Jr#1 bivvying for the first time on friday night. Going to be amusing…

    Well we made it.
    No bogey men to report.
    Kids are still fast asleep.
    Mug of tea in hand.
    Happy.

I still remember they days of camping in the back garden, even though it was 30 years ago or more. Was an awesome adventure, especially when I was allowed friends over too!
The one thing I miss about bei g a kid is that endless feeling of the summer holidays and the sheer joy to be had going out and getting filthy in the countryside.

    Nah that’s breakfast.
Dinner should be a plate of beans. And sat round the campfire singing gingangoolie, or recreating the scene from Blazing Saddles.

Took Stoner Jr#1 bivvying last night. Nice evening for it, though a bit cold for me as I was just using a bivvy bag and down smock. He was snug as a bug though in his sleeping bag tucked inside an 80L rucksack liner 🙂

Back home by 7am this morning for scrambled eggs on toast. No bogey men to report, but I was worried about werewolves at one point.

Here’s a few pics from the recent camping trip I ‘advertised’ here on STW.

WOWO really is a cracking site – great for the kids!

What’s not to like about a few kids poking sticks into a red hot fire, eh…

    I wish! Beautiful isn’t it.
They drove it from Holland to camp here for 2 weeks.
Had an even older trunk that attaches to the rear!
    Awesome!
