think its coming from the master cylinder as everything else appears fine..

and think you cant buy parts to replace seals etc in there?

anyone know anywhere that has a right hand / front SLX BL-M665 brake lever in stock… as CRC are out of stock 🙁

if not.. would one of these work with my SLX caliper?

Yup, the XT will work happily with these.

I’ve just had an SLX caliper pack up on me – leak from piston, ruined pads – and replaced it with an XT one (still using SLX lever). It’s the same lever design wise, just not engineered as nicely.

I’ve learned that Shimano don’t ship spares for calipers but lever-seal…not sure.

SLX has done the job for me but, if the opportunity arises to replace anything, I’d not choose to buy SLX again. They work, but are clearly not as well engineered as the XT.

I’ve not found SLX levers for less than £35 so definitely buy the XT at the CRC price.

Fitting the XT has ‘de-sponged’ the brake feel a bit (yes, I did bleed the SLX’s properly), it looks better, it stops fractionally harder.

    Hope this helps
