    Hello,

Went riding today and mid way through noticed my brake lever coming closer to bar than at the start. Thought nothing of it but then noticed what looked like oil, but it was hard to tell with all the rain. Washed it off but it came back later on. I can’t see anything from forks so wondered if it’s the caliper?

Brake is guide re. Have rebuilt a lever before but never had any issues with a caliper. Can the seals go in so they leak fluid on to the disc?

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

Can happen if the caliper seals go. yes. Or my recent issue was a nick in the hose near the caliper, same effect

    OK, thanks.

Do you need to replace the pistons as well as the seals. I have seen kits for either just the seals or seals and pistons.

Pistons normally only needed if they are damaged.
