Amazing riding / recovery / crashing going on…

My mate is there racing this weekend. Got some updates from him yesterday. Loads of climbing! So much so, as he was climbing he was thinking it was beyond him. He says the descents are very very rocky and technical and after the the long climbs, it’s pretty shagged for the ride down.

A mate and an acquaintance raced too.

That’s basically what Joe (mate) said on FB – he finished 180-something and he’s a very talented rider. He claims he was massively under-gunned on a 140mm 650b bike too.

If it nails Sam Hill then there’s no shame in walking, that’s fierce. I reckon I could ride it- if I was fresh, and slowly. But in a race I’d mince it and then fall off anyway, and the crowd wouldn’t cheer or anything, there’d just be embarassed silence. Great stuff.
