Post cancer and the return was stuff of fairy tales, and yes I was one of the fools who believed the hype, but he started to get too many accusations to sit comfortably and sued anybody who spoke out against him.

Now he’s come clean I wish he’d just duck off and die,after he’s repaid all the money he’s ripped off with three”Lance”machine.

Pantani is an odd one. Doped to the gills (yes, he doped so much he developed gills) but rode with panache and met a tragic end so is somehow above criticism for some.

He is positively revered.
The difference between the corporate drugs cheat who made it clear he was going to win so hard it’ll destroy lives. And the hand made by artisans drugs cheat.
We overlook so much in our hatred for LA, like he ruined the image of cycling. Well he did in the eyes of those that were never interested in the sport before. But we all knew didn’t we?
It’s said even Eddy Merckx ruined the lives of his peers for almost a decade. and he WAS a drugs cheat. He ruled the roost on and off the bike.

IMO cycling made LA what he became.
