Hi. All, got a trip to Keswick soon, what are general conditions up there at the moment for both biking and walking please?

The tops are quite soggy, but just normal lakes conditions at the moment. Most paths/trails no worse than usual.

Raining now but it does seem to drain well.  Boggy underfoot I walk in waterproof shoes as every walk always seems to cross a bogfest at some point.  Last Sunday really windy, stupidly only set off walking in cycle gloves.  Had to improvise with spare set of socks as gloves as windchill ferocious.

I get most lakes news on mountain rescue feeds on fb, always describes conditions, subsequent rescue, learnt loads over the years.

The last week has been mainly warm, breezy and dry which has made a decent difference to the fell conditions for both walking and riding. A lot of Keswick area routes can be pretty weather proof all year round and it’s starting to feel more spring like and firm underfoot/tyre now. Fingers crossed it continues dry. Great photo. Clag down quite low today. Some drizzle but fairly firm under foot/wheel.
