Hi Guys,

Looking for a decent Hardtail Mountain Bike for my Girlfriend. The Specialized Myka Elite and Lapierre Raid 300L are the ones i have been looking at as they are within the £500 budget I had set myself. She only wants something for ‘recreational riding’ so it doesn;t have to have all decent kit on.

She is 5’11” though so just wondering how the larges frame will fit her? Looking at buying it as a surprise so it isn’t easy sizing up without her sitting on one!

I think the Lapierre may be better sutied to a taller person?

If anyone has owned either of them then let me know how you are getting on.

Sorry but really think she needs to sit on a bike before buying. Also, you’ll get more for your money in the Classifieds.

Edit: of course with better kit she may be more likely to ride more frequently!

Agree with everything CG said. And also at 5’11, probably no need to narrow to womens specific bike.
