SlimJim78 – Given the picture, I’m not surprised they’ve admitted liability but really pleased for you. Regardless of reasons, it’s great news and a little bit less stress for you.

Ho hum – As someone who regularly does (5 days a week @ rush hour) the Glasgow – Edinburgh m8 commute I’m calling shenanigans on your claim of 85mph+ filtering. I see a lot of fellow bikers on that road, and there’s nowhere you could remotely do that. And I’m absolutely one of the less patient bikers. You may however have seen me and fellow bikers undertake motorists on the m8 at 70mph…given that the halfwits sit in the outside lane at 45 while there’s a mile+ of clear inside lane utterly unused (Livi to Edinburgh dual carriageway being a particular favorite of the outside lane hoggers). I’ve also witnessed motorists – watch porn while driving. Cutting their hair while driving (at 80mph in the outside lane I add). Filling in sales ledgers at the wheel. Reading books at the wheel. Etc etc etc…. If you want safer motorways, it’s not bikers filtering that’s a problem, it’s lame brained motorists who get behind the wheel and switch off.

    100% this /\
Having this week counted approx 100 mobile phone at the wheel users, and recently witnessed a driver using his tablet between his legs at 70+ mph.

Every commute a similar story. And almost every commute a pile up due to a useless plank cutting someone else up or smashing into the back of someone else (probably cutting their hair)

Yup. Sums up my commuting experience too. To be fair, I almost crashed the bike in shock at the woman cutting her hair. Scissors in one hand, brush in the other, steering with her knees and staring into the rear view mirror. I tried gesticulating at her, but couldn’t get her attention, so got as far away from her as I possibly could. Madness.

Hope your flight isn’t too uncomfortable. 🙂
