Anything half decent from the likes of CRC or Wiggle? I don’t want to go silly, just something that will do the job on the cooler mornings on the way into work. Any recommendations?

I’ve tried loads. The only ones that seem to stay put are Assos. Not the cheepest I know, but you will have them for years…..

Knee pads will look a little silly on my Tricross commuter! The roads around me are bad, but not that bad!

True, but they are a bit clumpy for an early morning spin!

Ah, size could be an issue, I’ve got pretty chunky legs! Do they vary in size much?

Descente are good, but size up a bit big. Did the trick tonight.

I have used a pair of Pearl Issumi for the last eight years and only now are they beginning to show their age. They come if different sizes too!

DeFeet are pretty good. Not that expensive. They don’t stay put though, but they’re pretty long and stretchy so can double up as full legwarmers at push
