My Kindle screen is knacked, I’ve had it about 3yrs so didn’t get a warranty replacement from Amazon.
Any reason not to replace it with the latest Paperwhite version?
    Thanks

Have you spoke to amazon. I got a replacement when the screen cracked, and my kindle was a good couple of years old

Yes thanks had an online ‘chat’ and was offered various refurbed models but not with massive discounts over new models.

I have a feeling there was some bad press about breaking screens when mine went, so amazon must have been in friendly PR mode. Can’t help on the paperwhite though, we both have the regular ones.

The new Paperwhite is fantastic. I had a Keyboard 3G and thought I wouldn’t notice the difference but now I would not go back to a non-paperwhite.

Much crisper, much faster page turns, smaller and lighter.

I have not got the 3G version this time though as Amazon have (understandably) limited the 3G connection to Amazon books only. On the Keyboard you could pretty much surf the net but the data charges must have been crippling for them!
