Two recent trips to London have convinced me that the city centre is now populated and frequented almost entirely by toffs tourists while all the dross are living waaay out in the suburbs. Boris being a toff would be the natural choice of the majority of voters.

FTFY. Only two recent trips? You ought to get out of the house more.

So, what odds on Livingstone announcing that he’s going to run as a Respect candidate for mayor next time round?

    😉

i dunno i reckon he’ll be retiring soon hes nearly 70

or probably doing what all working class socialist heroes do- angling for a spot in the upper house

i think the more interesting question i s what job borris will be after next time round

Unlikely since it would require him to undergo a dramatic shift to the left.

He lost my first preference vote for the first time because of his ingratiating attitude towards New Labour.

Livingstone had far more credibility when he stood as an independent against New Labour.

So, you only ‘half’ voted for him then Ernie 🙄

Because I suppose you thought your first vote was likley to get in and your second vote wouldn’t be used (I’m presuming you didn’t vote Boris first choice, Ken second 😉 )

Why the rolling eyes Z-11 ?

Like a lot of Londoners, Livingstone wasn’t my first preference – have you got some sort of problem with that ?

    Livingstone wasn’t my first preference

But you still voted for him!

Despite having vowed not to – to his face – despite saying quite clearly that you did not support and would not vote for the Labour Party, of which he was official candidate, and this time, saying that “It’s quite likely that I won’t vote for him”

You’re nearly as divorced from reality and as economical with the truth as he is!

I suppose it was all the fault of the (sotto voce: Jewish controlled ) right wing media

to be fair have you seen the bloke who won? Do Londoners realise the rest of the cpuntry is pointing and laughing?

    Really a_a?

I remember before Boris won in 08, the usual suspects telling us that as soon as Boris took charge London was going to collapse into a scene that looked like the last half of Threads.

Magically, the predicted disaster didn’t happen, London has continued to outperform the rest of the UK and most of Europe

    Strange that!

Hell, he even has the endorsement of the Left on here:

tandemjeremy – member: Like or loathe Boris Johnson – it is clear he is extremely clever – a cut above most politicians who are actually rather thick…
…personally? I hope he does well. we need more politicians like him and less like Blears or Cameron with their total lack of ability to think and fear of saying the wrong thing.

It seems that ernie thinks ken is a better option than Boris in a two horse race.

I’m more interested in why I’m “divorced from reality and economical with the truth” based on what I’ve said.

The things Z-11 dreams up in an attempt to rile are quite bizarre.

It does appear that Londoners want a joke again so they voted for one. Again. But, not my city.

Anyway, we have our own mayoral wankfest coking up in Bristol in November. I was so sure it was going to be a NO that I didn’t bother voting. That’ll teach me. 🙄

I was happy to vote for Livingstone when he was an independent candidate standing against Labour, but that after his re-admittance into the Labour Party I once said to him, personally, that I was no longer prepared to vote for him

    ernie_lynch – Member:
It’s quite likely that I won’t vote for him but that is due to policies,

    ernie_lynch – Member:
since Livingstone has recently thrown his weight behind Ed Balls, it is now even more unlikely I will vote for him – if I want Tory policies I’ll vote Tory, not Labour.

    Hmmm…

    quite unlikely

Tbh Zulu, you’ve really struggled recently here. Maybe take a break for a few weeks and come back when you’re not so easy to pwn? Just an idea like…
