As redfordrider said, the official name for it is “Buyer Remorse” and it’s a well known and documented state of mind.

Don’t worry, after a couple of rides you’ll wonder how you got by without it.

Best thing I’ve ever bought for my bike, changes the way you ride and is a bargain now i look back. 2 of my mates went straight out and purchased one within 2 weeks and touch wood we’ve all gone 6 months, 3 times a week riding without incident or fault

You wont regret it, well until you want the new crank bros one.
You wouldn’t believe how often you’ll use it, and don’t worry about the wife, we all know they are worth thousands and you had a super duper deal 😉

you wont regret it, unless you cant afford to pay the credit card bill, then you might. Otherwise, all good, expensive purchase but one you will definitely get the use from

Just picked up a Gravity Dropper on Ebay and took out the new post I had just put into a new build, it had only seen one ride. Had one ride with the Gravity dropper and I’m happy to just add the cost of the normal post to that as I love it so much. Definitely a piece of kit you didn’t realise you NEEDED.

Ha ha – yeah I felt like that when I ordered some new Superstar bars, and they were only £35.

    Enjoy your post.

Her: “So you just sold a pair of wheels and bought some hubs?”

    Me: “Er, yes.”

    Her: “Why?”

Me: “So I can build some wheels.”

Her: “But you just sold some wheels.”

Me: “I needed the money to buy the bits for the new wheels.”

Her: “Why didn’t you just keep your existing wheels and save your money.”

    Me: “Ummm…”

Her: “How much were the hubs?”

Me: “What shall we have for dinner?”

There’s a brief period of remorse between ordering a Reverb online and using it. I too felt guilty about it. But then I rode it and it’s all good, no regrets at all.

£220 on a seatpost? I’d rather learn to ride properly with an ordinary one 😉

So, get a reverb now or wait for the Kronolog? What is the verdict on those?

Buy a 30.9mm reverb off me 172 used once in classifieds

Why are you getting rid of it?

I had a yeti 575 which i sold to buy a 29er, tried to hang onto it and thought about buying specialised camber 29 cause it would fit, but just preferred trek rumblefish so have bought another reverb for that as its 31.6 mm so selling the 30.9mm one.

sadly some of us don’t live at altitude in the real Alps and mountains as you lot seem to do to need such a device, lucky you!

Even on flattish rides now it’s still up and down all the time.

A common theme here is ‘I thought it was hideously expensive but bought it and immediately realised it was worth every penny’.
That is certainly my experience. My favourite thing since tubeless tyres.

So you should having spent £220 on a seat post.

i’d consider it as important to riding as rear suspension and normally most FS frames are about £500 – £1000 more than the hard tail equivalent – so that’s just the same as spending £500 on a £350 rear shock

I certainly thought I could go from FS to 29er HT + Reverb

I used a Giant Contact Switch briefly (until it seized). On longer downhills it just stayed down, and then up for the climbs – not much advantage over a QR clamp. It comes into its own on undulating trails.
