  • Just landed at the shop – Ragley

New Ragley Ti frame just hit us. Bits are also arriving for a medium-spec build to see what sort of interest there is. Some of the detailing is quite nice (e.g. cable guides) but I'm hoping the downtube looks better when the bike is fully built.

    ❓ it's a tube….what could look wrong with it?

    How heavy is it?

Ragleys feel like last month's bike already 😉

seems ages ago these were first talked about and still no sign of the poor peoples versions 😐

Its the same as the Ti456 downtube, all funny manipulation and ovalisation means it looks wierd as its narrowing in width but stretching in height as it goes towards the headtube.

I’ve seen Ed-o’s and that looks vary nice built up. He can’t half ride it either.

    Black Blue Pig just landed.

This is from the first production run. This was air freighted. Others (lots) are coming by container. Here in 4 weeks.

Is there a list of dealers/stockists that may have a demo bike or at least an 'in the flesh' frameset, both for BluePig and MmmBOP ????

Druidh is wrong it looks frikkin awesome. Finish is superb and i reckon we will leave it without stickers on – the brush effect is really good.

The chopped up stays look interesting and i am loving the disc mounts.

Arghh… just got to wait til the build kit arrives so we can tank it round the trails.

Liking the wee seat stay bridge as well – nice touch.

Well I am glad about that. I was a bit puzzled that "the new boy" wasn't quite on message 😉

whats with not completely welding the head tube gusset? I noticed that on the 456 summer season frame too (on the chainstays tho………)

what are the frame weights for the paupers versions of the ragley and the mmmmmmmmbop? doesnt say on the hotlines website blurb

    cynic-al

    3.5lb and 5.5lb IIRC.

Spey Stout – open ended gussets are WELL better than welded over ones, despite a proliferation of frames using both types happily 😉

Ragley Ti has no headtube gusset.

open ended gussets are WELL better than welded over ones,

It is possible to do welded over one in alloy without a problem, even steel if you're careful.

But I like things that don't require you to be too careful.

Any thoughts on which forks would work well with the paupers versions ???

More coming tommorow. Ran out of time/sunshine today.

Frames are powdercoated (for durability), stickers supplied on a sheet for you to apply (or not). Couple of different design downtube decals in each pack, and of course you can mix it up, leave 'em off as you fancy.

Sticker application is simple, even I managed it, though it would seem we've made the head tube decal about 50% too big. hey ho.

oh, and rs – CHEERS 🙂

    Great idea.

That Blue Pig looks fantastic . . . shame you seem to have forgotten about us tiny folks along the way though 😐

I saw a couple in Two Wheels, very nice they looked too.

One of those will look very nice with my Blue Nixons on the front.

I shouldn't have to worry about cutting the chainstay with a 36t ring like the 456 either.

I think the dropouts are well cool – slotted even more so. Very clever idea. Must add a bit of weight though.

The orange would match my waterproof, rucksack and Bob The Builder bell. But I already have an orange bike that matches them.

Must add a bit of weight though.

There are lighter ways to make a dropout, but this doesn't need an additional bracing tube, or an additional weld on disc mount, and can use light seatstays. So all in, it's not too bad.
