    STW Massive;

    As stated – it’s buggered. Any suggestions as to how to secure the cassette without one?

    Help me Obi Wan STWobi. You’re my only hope….

    length of chain a few nails and a bit of wood? Molgrips and a bit of chain?

    loop of chain nailed to a bit of wood will do

    or an oil filter remover from Halford for half the cost (of a real one, not a loop of chain and piece of wood, obviously)

    Your wife may kill you but, Oven Gloves will give you a firm safe purchase on the cassette while you undo it with the cassette tool and spanner.

    or – just another thought.

    Scrwedriver from behind, into the back of the cassette, which won’t turn ‘cos the spokes won’t let it.

    Wouldn’t recommend as a solution long term but would work in an emergency.

    No molgrips, no hammer, no nails, no wood….

    No fooking chance… 😕

    Ooh, what’s this I have in my toolbox, is it a chain whip? Yes, I think it is…

    I’m not letting you loose with it though, not with your ham-fistedness.

    The old tea towel trick has worked for me in the past.

    make your own chainwhip. as a skint student in 1992 I bolted some chain to the other end of a headset spanner & its worked fine ever since.

    length of chain wraped round your foot should do it.
