No it’s really not great, plenty of nice stuff that’s not a lot more expensive. Makers mark, monkeys shoulder etc

We used it to clean a contaminated brake rotor at Mayhem once.

Not great, Jack Daniels is significantly worse though.

It doesn’t taste of much, does it?

Tend to buy stuff on offer and try not to repeat myself so the Scottish supermarket options are running out.

Tried various Irish and slowly, the American.
Bulleit bourbon and the rye were both very pleasant.

As the Jim Beam was cheap I thought I’d give it a go.
    Am I missing something?
There’s really not a lot to it is there?
Even £13.50 for 70cl seems a bit cheeky.

Just walked back for a bottle of Cola and a lime in an attempt to salvage something.

    This could get messy.

I’ve had both the rye and bourbon bulletin brand whiskeys. Decent enough mixed with coke or a whiskey sour not so good as an old fashioned.

Anyone know a good’un for an old fashioned?

I’ve got a bottle of it languishing in the dining room, for a mate who lent/loaned me a dehumidifier cos he likes it.

I prefer dehumidified water to that shit.

I also used to love a good ‘Rye & Dry’ but I tried Canadian Club on it’s own & it was like drinking brake fluid or something.

I got a bottle of “monkey shoulder” a few years ago but left it unopened for months till i finished all my other xmas malts – i found it surprisingly decent with a dash of water and it made a very nice whisky mojito but the following day was a complete write-off.

Monkey Shoulder is good, don’t write it off just because it’s a blend!

I fell in love with Power’s Whisky some years ago.
