What’s important to remember here is that he was JRA on the road, not doing anything ‘rad’ or dangerous.

Many people seem to think just pootling down the road is safe so helmets are not needed, and going out MTBing is where the risk is. This would be true if there was no traffic. However those motor vehicles are the most dangerous thing we have to deal with with our wheels on the ground, easily.
